COVID-19:Our Role & Responsibility to Our Clients

To the TapIn community,

In light of growing concerns over the spread of the COVID-19, we’re committed to doing our part to stop the spread of the virus and maintain the health and safety of the community.

What we’re doing:There is currently a shortage of protective face masks. To help keep our community safe, TapIn is making 10,000 medical face masks and 1,200 professional N95 masks available for purchase at cost, for $1.40 and $8.00 respectively.100% of profit, if any, from purchases will be donated to BC Women’s Hospital.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a growing demand for food delivery services. We are now providing locally sourced organic fruit and vegetable boxes from Discovery Organics at a break-even price. Your boxes are delivered by our mobile service provider at minimal human contact basis.
We have been in touch directly with all of our service providers to confirm if they have travelled outside of Canada in the last 30 days, specifically vulnerable areas like Italy, Iran, Iraq and China. Service providers are required to report to TapIn if they develop any symptoms, or if they have been in contact with anyone with symptoms. All service providers are increasing the frequency of equipment cleans, and sterilizing all equipment before and after each appointment. Service providers have been advised to self-sanitize often, and avoid public transportation.Upon making appointments, all clients will be asked if they have experienced any symptoms, or been in contact with anyone who has.

What you can do:

As we practice social distancing and avoid public places, in-home services like fitness training, facials, massage and manicures/pedicures can be a great way to keep up your lifestyle, while keeping yourselves, your family and the community safe. That said, extra precautions are important during this critical time.

When using TapIn mobile services, we’re asking you to:

  • Wash your hands before and after each appointment.
  • Ensure your home is clean and surfaces are disinfected.
  • Cough into a tissue, your shirt, or the crease of your elbow.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.

Q: Will I get kicked in the head by my kickboxing trainer?

A: Our professional and ID-verified (learn more) kickboxing trainers will NEVER EVER hit you. You hit them (on the pads); they make sure you are having fun in a safe and friendly environment.

Q: Would I look like a bodybuilder?

A: Kickboxing is very cardio intensive. You will get toned, but it’s HARD to become a bulky. Bodybuilders focus on muscle growth with low reps with heavy weights. Natural Cold and Flu Remedies

man coughing

Peak flu season is upon us, and there are more outbreaks than usual this year, due to the circulation of both influenza A and B. And if you’re lucky enough to escape the dreaded flu this year, chances are you’re not as likely to escape the common cold. Between meetings, playdates and living our best lives, sometimes there’s not enough hand sanitizer in the world to keep away all of those germs.

The best cure for the flu or a cold is rest, rest, hydration and more rest. Take a break from the responsibilities of your daily life (we know it’s hard) and get caught up on some Netflix and sleep. That said, life never stops, and we know you’re itching to get better ASAP. Lucky for you, the team at TapIn, being the wellness fanatics that we are, have put together a natural remedy survival guide for this cold and flu season.

Essential oils

Many essential oils, like peppermint and eucalyptus, open up airways and reduce congestion to allow for easy breathing. Ever wonder why you feel instantly better after drinking or smelling peppermint? Peppermint relieves tension headaches and clogged sinuses, improves sleep, and can aid with cramps and aches, leaving you feeling relaxed. Similarly, eucalyptus oil is well-known for clearing up stuffiness and congestion, and helps with runny noses and headaches. A definite go-to for when you have the sniffles.

Warm salt water

Who knew that two simple ingredients could be such a miracle worker? Warm salt water, along with soothing canker sores and reducing mouth and throat infections, can also break up nasal congestion, while removing bacteria from your nose. Not to mention, it can ease the pain of a stinging nose and throat. Mix a half teaspoon of salt with a cup of warm water, and use a syringe or nasal irrigation kit for instant relief.

Immune system-boosting fruits and vegetables

Nothing takes better care of the body than a healthy diet. Certain fruits and veggies do a good job of keeping your immune system strong, giving your body the tools it needs to fight off sickness. Citrus fruits, like oranges or grapefruits, are high in vitamin C, which increases the production of the white blood cells that help you fight off infections. Garlic also has a wealth of immune-system boosting properties and can help to fight off infection. Another fan favourite among the TapIn team is ginger, which reduces inflammation, soothing a sore throat.

Drink liquids

Finally, we at TapIn cannot stress enough the importance of hydration. Our bodies depend on water to survive and thrive, as it optimizes the performance of every cell, tissue and organ. When you’re sick, your body becomes dehydrated. So it’s especially important to drink plenty of liquids to balance out the fluids you’re losing. Drink plenty of tea, water, juice or soup to get that body up and running again.

The Benefits of Mobile Massage

Benefits of Mobile Massage. Relaxation Massage Image.

Regular massages, while undoubtedly relaxing, have many physical and mental health benefits. Massage can offset postural stress caused from hours hunched over at a desk, ease muscle pain, soothe anxiety and improve sleep, resulting in a more balanced and healthy lifestyle.

That said, it’s unreasonable to expect that you’ll find time to visit a spa or massage clinic regularly. Luckily, mobile massage is more cost-effective, and has more stress-relieving and health benefits, than visiting a spa.

More benefits, less cost

While in-home massages are popular with celebs like Mariah Carey, you can enjoy the benefits of mobile massage without the steep price tag. With TapIn, you spend less on mobile massages than you would at a spa, due to low overhead fees. You can enjoy instant relaxation within your own home, for less than what you’d pay to drive to a spa. You also have the option to choose bundle pricing, booking several sessions at once, and saving even more.

Save previous time

Mobile massages are ideal for anyone with a busy lifestyle. Whether you’re a parent with small children, a working professional, or both, mobiles massages allow you to book a session that fits within your schedule. There’s no need to account for travel time, or make accommodations for your children while you’re away. Mobile massage fits seamlessly into your busy schedule, so that you can get in some R&R without sacrificing other responsibilities. With TapIn, you also have access to massage therapists outside of regular work hours, allowing more flexibility to accommodate your busy schedule.

Reduce stress

Studies have shown that massage directly impacts stress and depression levels, with regular massages leaving recipients more relaxed and happy. Receiving a massage in the comfort of your own home further eliminates stress caused by finding your way to and from a spa or clinic. In-home massages create a seamless experience, where your massage isn’t interrupted by a commute. Instead, you can follow a massage with a nap, bubble bath or book, to create a cohesive and relaxing experience.

Optimize health

Massage can play an enormous role in helping to heal pain caused by injuries or illnesses. If you’re seeking out massage as a way to remedy serious pain or discomfort, mobile massages prevent risk of further injury by allowing you to stay in one place, rather than commuting to a spa or clinic. Massages in the tranquility of your own home can also help to reduce headaches, improve sleep, boost your immune system and reduce stress-induced illnesses.
